OUR COUNTRY, GHANA IS BLEEDING PROFUSELY AND NEEDS SALVATION

IDDI MUHAYU-DEEN'S FOLDER

They stole our money and gave it to one of their own, who in turn, used the money to finance their activities. When they were caught pants down and the matter became public, they told us that the man actually defrauded them even though our courts had instructed them not to pay any money to that guy. Beyond that, he himself, has publicly stated that he had no contract with us and therefore couldn't have been paid for any contract execution.

After humongous public outrage and resentment, they felt compelled to go to court to fight for the retrieval of our stolen money. Rather expectedly, they intentionally sent a poor case to court and were NOT serious in prosecuting the matter until the court fined them. Eventually, they ensured that they lost the case.

Fortunately, there was one man who was so concerned about our plight and promised to get us justice. He, singlehandedly, took on this matter, went to court at his expense, put up a strong case on our behalves and got a favourable judgement for us. The court then ordered the "stealers" to go and collect our money from that guy.

The court did not mince words in chastising them and likening their reprehensible conduct to one of deliberate ‘creation, looting and sharing’ of our money. Obviously, the court only felt short of calling them kleptomaniacs or thieves even though that was essentially the extrapolation that could be made from the words of the court. It is not surprising that 3 years down the lane, after the court gave this explicit order, they have still not been able to retrieve our stolen money.

They claim they are still in court, deceiving you and me that they are trying to enforce the court order, which was, nonetheless, given some 3 years ago. Interestingly, the "thief" then comes out publicly and threatens that he would EXPOSE them if they pursued with the matter. Fortunately for him, his threat has yielded some positives because they have now officially written to the court communicating their decision to DISCONTINUE the case against him. Don’t you love this drama!

If you think you are dreaming or reading a fictitious story, then I am sorry to disappoint you. This is something that happened live and coloured here in Ghana and in this 21st century. That is the mind-boggling narrative involving the John Mahama NDC government, their infamous party financier by name, Alfred Agbesi Woyome and our saviour, Martin Hamidu aka the citizen vigilante of our time. I shall take you on a trip down memory lane on this matter in my next folder.

After stealing our money for their so called party financier, which they later shared and chopped, the NDC government is now telling us that they are not interested in retrieving the money from him as directed by the highest court of our land. They are telling us that government is so rich and do not need any extra money anywhere. Yet, this is the same government that is over taxing us. This is the same government that has no money to buy essential drugs for the nation’s psychiatric hospital. The nurses, as we speak, are on strike.

This is the same government that has no money to pay contractors; to pay teacher trainee allowance; to pay nursing trainee allowance, to pay bursaries for graduate students; to solve the dumsor crisis; to subsidise utility bills for the poor household; to subsidize our killer school fees; to construct more roads; to build more hospitals; to honour several statutory financial commitments. Can you imagine the number of schools/hospitals/roads that our stolen money which was doled out to cronies of the government including Woyome/Waterville/Isofoton can build?

Can you imagine the number of lives this money could save? I sympathize with the pregnant women who die because they could not have access to proper healthcare due to the bad nature of our roads. I sympathize with the teacher/nursing trainees as well as graduate students who are suffering because their allowance/bursary have been cancelled by the John Mahama NDC government. I sympathize with the families of all the people that lost their lives and jobs because of 4-years of dumsor we suffered under this government.

The most annoying thing is that these same people, after stealing our money and sharing same among themselves as observed by the Supreme Court [with the popular phrase, create-loot-share]; after transforming their lives and that of their families/friends and building stomach infrastructure at our expense; after treating us with so much contempt and ignoring our plight, they now come back to us soliciting for our votes so that they can perpetuate themselves in power. I am sure God is alive.

I don’t want to use some harsh words but I think it would be a monumental betrayal of our intelligence and common sense if we decided to, all of a sudden, overlook all these issues in our political considerations. Their flagbearer, President John Mahama says we have short memory so we would surely forget all the issues by December 7 and go ahead to vote for him.

Well, the ball is now in our court. We either choose to “reward him” for subjecting us to 8-years of hardships OR opt for a regime change. I have no doubt that Ghanaians are discerning and as such, would vote for CHANGE. Eight of NDC is certainly more than enough. It is time to stop the corruption. It is time to stop the stealing. It is time to stop the incompetence and mismanagement. It is time to make Ghana work again and it is time to bring back the NPP to restore our hope.
