ON THE CONTROVERSY SURROUNDING EX-PRESIDENT MAHAMA’S DECISION TO GRAB VEEP’S BUNGALOW

ON THE CONTROVERSY SURROUNDING EX-PRESIDENT MAHAMA’S DECISION TO GRAB VEEP’S BUNGALOW

Kindly help me beg ex-president Mahama to retire HONOURABLY. He has paid his due to this country and ought to leave in peace. I therefore find as shocking and highly repugnant, his request to still maintain his official residence contrary to the provisions in the law, which mandates an outgoing president to VACATE his official residence a day before the swearing-in of a new President and Veep.

Is H.E. John Mahama oblivious of this explicit provision in our laws? Or does he expect somebody to go to court to force him to vacate that residence? Doesn't he have legal advisers? Where is Amalba of 'high rise building fame’? Again, is the former president unaware that the said prestigious facility he is seeking to grab for himself, is the official residence meant for the occupation of Ghana's Vice Presidents?

Is he aware that apart from Amissah Arthur, whom he [John Mahama] denied that facility, all the previous Vice Presidents in the 4th Republic occupied that very bungalow? If any of his predecessors had decided to appropriate the bungalow to himself as he is seeking to do now, where would he live when he became Vice President? And now that he is seeking to grab that house, where does he expect the current Vice President, H.E Alhaji Dr. Bawumia to live? I hope he is not expecting him to go and live in Bole (lol).

In any case, has the NDC government, of which John Mahama was the leader, settled former President Kufour since he left office in 2009? Of course, the answer is a palpable NO. Or they want to tell us that Kufour ruled Togo and not Ghana; making him undeserving of a settlement package from the State of Ghana? The least said about the bizarre treatment these NDC folks meted out to ex-president Kufour after leaving office, the better.

President Kufour, who ruled Ghana for good 8 years was not and has still not been given any accommodation by the NDC government, yet John Mahama, who struggled to rule Ghana for ONLY 4 years, would not even wait for the State to settle him but decides which residence he prefers to occupy in perpetuity. Even in doing that, he wants to grab the Vice President's official residence. The gods must surely be crazy. See these property grabbing social democrats ooo!

That is the kind of social injustice the NDC preaches and that is why some of us maintain that these people have absolutely no business coming close to the corridors of power. They only care about themselves and their cronies and not the ordinary Ghanaian taxpayer. Opposition is where they belong and INSHA ALLAH, in opposition, shall they remain for decades. Let believers say Amen.

Assalamu alaikum

Please, it is shareable....
