1)
If you are a student who would be
graduating very soon and hoping to get employment in the public sector, voting
for the NDC means, your hope will be shuttered for the next four years
2)
If you are already an unemployed graduate,
voting for the NDC means, an elongation of your woes because you will remain unemployed
for the next four years. All of this, is due to the NDC government’s policy to FREEZE
EMPLOYMENT in the public sector as an IMF conditionality
3)
If you are already a worker in the
public sector, voting for the NDC means, you stand the risk of losing your job
in 2017 due to government’s deal with the IMF to downsize the public sector
workforce. Follow this link for details:
http://www.myjoyonline.com/business/2015/april-22nd/more-civil-servants-to-lose-jobs-in-2017-imf-confirms.php.
4)
If you are a student in any of the
public tertiary institutions, voting for the NDC means, you are going to pay at
least GHc700 as utility bills which will be embedded in your school fees next
academic year.
5)
If you are a student in any of the
private tertiary institutions, voting for the NDC means, your school will
continue to pay 25% corporate tax leading to the ballooning of your school
fees. Also you will never have the opportunity to benefit from GETfund. As for
joblessness, “abi u know dada”
6)
If you are a teacher or nursing trainee,
voting for the NDC means:
-
You will NEVER receive your trainee
allowance
- You will CONTINUE to pay school fees
beyond what your counterparts in the public universities are paying. In some cases,
you are paying as much as 45 million cedis per student
-
After completion, your employment
into the public sector is NOT guaranteed. You can ask your seniors and they
will tell you what they are going through currently
-
You CANNOT also go for further studies
to pursue degree programme until you serve for at least 8 years
7) If you are a business man, voting for
the NDC means, a return of dumsor, more killer taxes, depreciating cedi, rising
interest rate and worker retrenchment
8)
If you are in civil society, a media man, a
religious person or a government critic, voting for the NDC means, more insults
and verbal attacks from the babies with sharp teeth. It also means more arrogant
posturing from government functionaries including President Mahama himself, who
says no Ghanaian is qualified to criticize him except former Presidents
I hope
you now see why voting for the NDC is a monumental DISASTER. Please do not make
a mistake. You and I deserve better. Vote wisely and vote for CHANGE. This
election is about the plight of 1000s of graduates from the nation's Schools of
Hygiene and Diploma Nurses, who have been UNEMPLOYED since 2011 and 2013
respectively even though you and I are still dying of Cholera.
This
election is about the plight of some 41,000 teacher trainees and 37,000 nursing
trainees, who are unwaveringly desirous of having their allowance reinstated to
help them realise their career dreams. This election is about the students of
Ghana who are being suffocated with draconian fees and are also being told to
pay their own utility bills.
This
election is about the plight of the 41,000 postgraduate students who are
desirous of having their bursaries reinstated to help them with their thesis and
research works. This election is about the plight of some 730,000 unemployed
graduates who cannot find jobs because the Mahama government has put a ban on
public sector employment.
This election is about the several
lives that have been lost and businesses that have collapsed because of four
years of DUMSOR that we have suffered under this government. Ultimately, this
election is about the future of Ghana and we must get it right. Surely, eighth (8) years of NDC, under the circumstances,
is more than enough. And that is why you and I must VOTE for CHANGE.
