TRIBUTE IN HONOUR OF THE LATE KWABENA BOADU

TRIBUTE IN HONOUR OF THE LATE KWABENA BOADU

Iddi Muhayu-Deen eulogizes KB…

The Holy Quran says that, "every life shall taste the agony of death" and so is the Holy Bible. As religious persons, we all believe that death visits you when it has to visit you and there is absolutely nothing you or any person can do to perturb this natural order. It visits the young just as it visits the old; it visits the vulnerable just as it visits the powerful; it visits the sick just as it visits the strong, it visits the rich just as it visits the poor; it shall visit you just as it shall visit me.

It is not only a no respecter of persons but also, a no respecter of the conditions within which one finds himself. It strikes at all-time and without recourse to any consideration. In view of this hardcore reality regarding death coupled with our own religious beliefs, you and I ought to see every death as a normal occurrence. We shouldn't even be surprised nor shocked when we hear that somebody has passed on because that would happen anyway.

But I tell you, this is not the case when you lose a person so dear to you. A person in whom, you see a complete life; you see inspiration; you see hard work; you see determination; you see loyalty; you see bright future; you see every positivity. You tend to ‘forget’ your religious beliefs and get completely distraught, destabilized and devastated. This was and still is exactly the unenviable feelings of hundreds and thousands upon hearing the sad news regarding the death of an enterprising young man in the person of Kwabena Boadu.

Kwabena Boadu was amazingly outstanding amongst his compatriots. He was a perfect explication of an ideal life. He lived a life that embodied all the aforementioned virtues and more. I can’t figure out what he lacked. Just mention any positive trait and you would surely find that in Kwabena Boadu. Is it hard work or humility or competency or charisma or compassion or loyalty or commitment or what? Above all, he was one of the finest prolific writers of our generation with even greater prospects.

Kwabena Boadu was an embodiment of inspiration to the youth of NPP and Ghana at large. He was a ‘young mentor’ to me and many others. You would in the light of this, agree with me that there cannot be an exaggeration of how much a blow his death means to we, the young people in NPP and Ghana in general. He contributed significantly to the 2016 electoral triumph of the NPP as the PRESS SECRETARY to the party’s Vice Presidential Candidate. But sadly enough, he couldn’t live to harvest the fruit of his labour. How melancholic!

Can the vacuum Kwabena Boadu has left behind in the NPP, particularly in the camp of His Excellency the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia be filled? I doubt this possibility, at least not anytime soon. On the solemn occasion of his final funeral rites which was observed today at the State House, I join with heavy heart, all sympathizers to commiserate first of all, with the bereaved family, H.E. the Vice President, my brother Anthony Karbo (who discovered him), the NPP youth and Ghanaians in general for such lugubrious loss.

As we all mourn him, let’s also look at the bright side of things and take consolation in the fact that he lived a life which impacted on many young people in our country. Let’s celebrate him for a life well lived. Very few people were this fortunate. Indeed, the indelible legacies of Kwabena Boadu would forever live in our hearts and minds for God and country.

KB RIP!!!
