THE REAL INTENTION OF IBRAHIM MAHAMA IS TO SABOTAGE DR. BAWUMIA'S 19 BILLION DOLLAR WORTH OF CHINESE INVESTMENT

THE REAL INTENTION OF IBRAHIM MAHAMA IS TO SABOTAGE DR. BAWUMIA'S 19 BILLION DOLLAR WORTH OF CHINESE INVESTMENT

By Iddi Muhayu-Deen

If you think Ghanaians have had enough of the Mahamas and the NDCs, then you haven't seen anything yet. Not even the humiliating electoral defeat they suffered in the hands of Ghanaians at the last polls would make them change their anti-Ghana ways. These people would just not learn any lesson. They awarded every juicy contract to themselves when they were in government except ones they didn't need. They enriched themselves like nobody's business.

They were so powerful and untouchable. You dared them not, else you would smell paper. Even after they miserably lost the 2016 elections and were getting ready to handover to the NPP, these Mahamas were still awarding contracts to themselves. A case in point is the US$50 million '419 contract' to mine a chunk of Ghana's bauxite deposit at Yinayini; which they awarded to themselves on 29th December, 2016. This contract, so called, was not ratified by parliament rendering same nugatory.

The NPP government and in particular, His Excellency Vice President Dr. Bawumia then comes in and says, 'HELL NO'. Our natural resources must be utilized prudently in order to yield maximum returns and bring prosperity to the Ghanaian people. So he travels to China and uses his internationally acclaimed economic model to attract a whopping US$19 billion worth of Chinese investment into Ghana using our bauxite deposit as leverage. This award winning deal is VERY KEY to the NPP government's economic transformation agenda. If implemented to the latter, indications are that, the NPP would stay in power for a very long time.

Guess what happens? The Mahamas are manifestly unhappy with this deal for obvious reasons. What do they do? They decide to storm the said bauxite reserve with their heavy duty 'galamsey' trucks to start mining without entry license from the EPA, as confirmed by the officials. Clearly, their real intention is to CREATE CONFUSION at the mining site so that the Chinese would have reason to reconsider their decision of investing the $19 billion. Of course, you don't expect any serious investor to put his money on something that is being contested or litigated.

That is how the Mahamas, even in opposition, are sabotaging Ghana and in particular, the Nana Addo-Bawumia government. How can you be this wicked to your country? May we never have a Mahama as our President again. Never again. I am shocked that experienced politicians like Peter Amewu and Sir Sir John aren't seeing this. Well, whatever it is, when you go to say a prayer, remember to pray for Ghana to overcome anything Mahama. Ghana must succeed.

Assalamu alaikum

SAMIRA BAWUMIA, HONOURED

SAMIRA BAWUMIA, HONOURED

I may not be blessed with the gift of clairvoyance but I can say without any aorta of doubt that when the story is told of our generation, it would surely be said that, a SAMIRA BAWUMIA did not only live with us, but was one of the greatest iconic figures of our time. Just as the name, Nana Yaa Asantewaa of yesteryears is associated with a particular generation in history, so will the name, SAMIRA BAWUMIA be mentioned with pride when the story is told of this generation.

In moments when a feminine voice was needed, you would certainly hear the voice of SAMIRA BAWUMIA. In territories characterized by male hegemony or dominance, you will not only find the SAMIRA BAWUMIAS there, but you would actually find her rubbing shoulders with men and beating them to it in most cases.

Ordinarily, you would expect stuffs like intimidation and destructive criticisms especially when mixed with venom and unsolicited vituperation to scare people away from pursuing a particular cause of action, but my brother, the narrative is completely different if it has to do with the SAMIRA BAWUMIAS. She is always resolute with her convictions. Such a woman of valour and 'testicular fortitude'! And to think that she is married to a colossus in the person of Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia, you can imagine how blessed the Bawumia family is.

For us as teachers, we know that with SAMIRA BAWUMIA as the Second Lady of Ghana, we can at all times, demand for chalks and other teaching and learning materials without being insulted. She is humble; she is caring; she is respectful; she is motherly; she is compassionate; she is multi-talented; she is beautiful; she is competent. Just mention any positive trait and you will find that in SAMIRA. At this juncture, I think it makes a lot of Mathematics sense to conclude that beauty+intelligence+courage=SAMIRA BAWUMIA.

The current President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo describes SAMIRA BAWUMIA as the GREATEST REVELATION to the NPP in the 2016 electioneering period. He describes her as one who added so much impetus to the NPP 2016 campaign ticket, where the party chalked an unprecedented electoral feat in the country's history. If this is how a whole President describes her, then what more can I say? My sister, Hajia SAMIRA BAWUMIA, you do all.

On the occasion of your birth, I am pleased to join the rest of Ghana and the World to CELEBRATE you Your Excellency the Second Lady of the Republic and also wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I am honoured and privileged to share the same ‘birth month’ with you. No wonder they say, August is the best month of the year.  I wish you the very best in life my sister, mother and mentor.

NPP LEADERSHIP COMMITS TO IMPROVING PARTY-GOVERNMENT RELATIONSHIP AS THEY HOLD REGULAR MEETINGS BETWEEN GOVERNMENT APPOINTEES AND PARTY EXECUTIVES ACROSS ALL LEVELS

NPP LEADERSHIP COMMITS TO IMPROVING PARTY-GOVERNMENT RELATIONSHIP AS THEY HOLD REGULAR MEETINGS BETWEEN GOVERNMENT APPOINTEES AND PARTY EXECUTIVES ACROSS ALL LEVELS

The National Executives of the NPP ably led by John Boadu and Freddy Blay, acting General Secretary and Chairman, have resolved to organize regular meetings between government appointees and party executives at the Regional and Constituency levels with the view to fostering cordial relationship between party and government at all times. Already, five of such meetings have been held in the Western, Central, Volta, Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions on the 9th, 10th, 13th, 15th and 16th of August respectively.

These meetings which provide an opportune platform for the grassroot members of the party to interact with various government appointees, have had in attendance, some Ministers of State, MPs, MMDCEs and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of key State Institutions including the boss of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), COCOBOD, NADMO, MASLOC, NEIP, NHIS, GIFECS, NPA, BOST, Ghana Gas, NSS, Free Zones Board among several others. The Office of the President, particularly the Operations Directorate led by the former National Organizer of the party, Lord Commey has been very instrumental in the organization of these meetings.

His Excellency the President himself, attended that of Western and Central Regions which coincided with his recent "thank you tour" in the two regions. The President used the occasion to account for his 7-month stewardship to the members of the party whilst assuring them that his government is very much on course to fulfilling all the 2016 manifesto promises of the NPP and delivering prosperity to the Ghanaian people including members of the NPP.

On appointments, the President, having acknowledged the fact that he couldn't have appointed everybody to serve in government, assured the people that as long as the NPP remains in power, they would all get work to do in view of the laudable policies and initiatives that are being implemented by the government; a lot of which seek to boost private sector growth and investments in consonance with the NPP's capitalist and centre-right philosophy.

On his part, the NPP General Secretary (Ag), John Boadu, who delivers the keynote address in all the regional party-government meetings, explains that the rationale for these engagements which have never happened in the history of the NPP, is to help foster a cordial relationship between government appointees and the officers of the party, thereby improving government-party relationship. According to him, this exercise is very crucial because research has consistently shown that parties in government easily lose elections anytime there exists a gap or breakdown in communication between the party and the government.

He also notes that these constant interactions would afford 'ordinary members' of the party, who are also Ghanaians to have direct contact with all the people that matter in government so that they would have adequate information on what the government is doing in various sectors and institutions in order to take advantage of any existing opportunity. Again, these regular meetings, according to John Boadu, has come to stay and would be held on quarterly basis. The remaining five regions shall have their turn after the party's national annual delegates conference scheduled for next week, August 25 to 27 in Cape Coast.
